A Messy Bookcase is a Messy Mind

I love a good book, it really helps me unwind at the end of a long day. I recently got into a great Thriller, written by James Patterson. It was a good book but once I finished it, I soon discovered an apparent problem....my bookcase was a mess. I had books in no particular order, I had books that I had borrowed and forgotten to return to the original owners - I even had my ex girlfriends books on my book shelf! I spent the next few hours sorting out all these old books. I sent some old ones to my local charity shop, I sent my ex girlfriends books back to her and I even found a £10 note between some of the books! I knew it was a good idea to stash that money, because now its like free money. Now, what book should I buy with my free money?

Cheapest ever furniture?

Friends of mine moved into a new place together but after paying the mortgage and all the other costs had very little budget to buy furniture. Despite this they managed to make the place look fantastic, and one of the ways they achieved it was by using old wooden wine boxes as side tables and a coffee table.

The boxes looked great in a kind of shabby chic way and with some throws and a few nice cushions they soon had the place looking really homely. The other place to try for cheap furniture is the junk shops and, surprisingly, some charity shops. The charity shops may not have room to display the furniture but sometimes if asked they have storerooms packed with the stuff - and its cheap!
